Below, you will find our thoughts on features such as the build quality, sound, and performance benefits of Two Brothers motorcycle exhausts.

Two Brothers Racing, often called TBR, is an American motorcycle exhaust manufacturer. Their lineup includes motorcycle exhausts for a variety of makes and models. For the most part, Two Brothers exhaust systems focus on enhancing motorcycle performance above all else.

Over the last 10 years, we have reviewed several TBR motorcycle exhausts, even using some on our personal bikes. So if you want to know more about the brand and their products, leave it to us.

Product Overview

Two Brothers exhausts are designed and manufactured in the USA. They feature high-quality, hand-built construction and have a straightforward design that should appeal to most motorcycle riders.

TBR motorcycle exhausts are known for their fantastic sound, but even more so for the massive power gains they bring to your bike. Their exhausts are also some of the more affordable options out there.

Let’s get into some of the nitty gritties of Two Brothers motorcycle exhausts.

Pros
  • Deep exhaust note
  • Free-flowing architecture
  • Noticeable power boost
  • Better performance throughout the rev range
  • Simple design
  • Premium materials used
  • Best 2-into-1 style exhausts
  • More affordable than competitors
Cons
  • Surface layer of some older models is prone to discoloration

Sound

Two Brothers motorcycles have an unmistakable exhaust note. It is a deep and beefy sound that goes well with big cruisers. We love the loud and unrestricted sound these exhausts make. And the cool thing is that the exhaust note changes based on the engine type and RPM.

So if you have a V-Twin, Two Brothers exhausts offer a bassy, thumping sound at idle and a deeper grunt at higher revs. Put one of these pipes on a sportbike, and you’ll be treated to growly acoustics that are fit for the track! One twist of the throttle and the pipes will sing!

Overall, we love the unique sound of Two Brothers motorcycle exhausts and it has our highest recommendation.

Design

Two Brothers exhausts are for the motorcycle rider who values a clean and simple design. You won’t find any sharp lines or angular cuts on these mufflers. Instead, they opt for classic styling with round mufflers and straight lines that fit on any bike.

Two Brothers are renowned for their fantastic 2-into-1 style exhausts for Harleys. These pipes have come to define an entire category of motorcycle exhausts, and you would be hard-pressed to find a sleeker 2-into-1.

Materials

TBR uses high-quality materials like aluminum, stainless steel, titanium, and carbon fiber for its exhausts. These premium materials make the exhausts lightweight but highly durable.

If you want to improve your bike’s power to weight ratio, a TBR can or full system might be what you need.

Build Quality

This is where the TBR exhausts fall short a little bit. There have been scattered reports of weak welds and low-quality surface coatings.

Specifically, these exhausts have a coating on the top layer that is prone to degradation under extremely high temperatures. Furthermore, some sportbike riders have complained that their Two Brothers exhausts developed leaks due to shoddy welding.

However, these problems were only reported on some older models of TBR exhausts. And the reports were few and far between. Since then, they have revised their manufacturing processes and offer a much more durable product. In fact, their new line of exhausts is right up there with the best in terms of build quality.

Research and Development

The ‘Racing’ in Two Brothers Racing isn’t just for show. These motorcycle exhausts were designed and developed on the racetrack, and it shows. TBR’s exhausts adorned some of the highest performing race bikes on the planet, and now they use that experience to make exhausts for us mere mortals.

Performance

If there is one thing that sets Two Brothers exhaust apart from the pack, it is their performance.

TBR motorcycle exhausts routinely provide the most power gains of any motorcycle exhaust in their category. Their full systems have a free-flowing exhaust architecture that makes the exhaust sound and perform unlike anything else.

Speaking of full system exhausts, slap one of these pipes on your bike, and you will be treated to a more responsive throttle, more horsepower throughout the rev range, and more low-end torque for easier maneuverability in tight spaces.

Cost

Another plus point of the Two Brothers Racing exhausts is their price. While you will still be paying a pretty penny for a full system, it is a lot more affordable than even the exhausts with lower performance.

TBR exhaust systems can be found for budget-friendly prices, and their slip-on offerings are even more economical.

Alternatives

If the Two Brothers Racing exhausts don’t quite float your boat, you have many other options.

Vance and Hines Exhausts

Vance and Hines are THE aftermarket exhaust brand for Harleys. Their products strike a fine balance of performance, sound, and build quality, making them the jack of all trades. They do everything pretty well, even if they don’t stand out for anyone particular feature.

Actually, scratch that. They do stand out for their rock-solid reliability and a durable build that just works. Just buy a Vance and Hines, and forget about it!

Bassani Exhausts

Bassani is one of those exhaust brands that focuses on the sound above all else. That’s not to say that they fall short in other areas. In fact, Bassani makes some of the best-looking exhaust pipes on the market.

The free-flowing exhaust architecture results in higher power figures for your bike. But the standout feature of Bassani exhausts is still the sound. The deep, rumbly sound that shakes your eyeballs in their sockets and rattles your bones!

You can get Bassani exhausts for various cruiser motorcycles, including Harleys, Yamahas, and Indians. However, their sportbike exhaust lineup is lacking to the point of non-existence.

Conclusion

Two Brothers Racing exhausts are some of the coolest and most high-performing on the market. They have a simple design philosophy that fits on any motorcycle and a raucous sound that demands attention.

Sure, they have had some quality control issues in the past, but we think the extremely high performance and the budget-friendly price tag do more than enough to make up for it. Not to mention, you can find a TBR exhaust for almost any bike you can think of, from Road Glides to Groms!
