Best Slip On Exhausts For Hayabusa Motorcycles

In this buying guide we’ve compared, researched and tested the best slip-on exhausts for the Suzuki Hayabusa.

We already had a good idea what the top candidates were based on our hefty experience of motorcycle exhausts, although we tested several on our Hayabusa.

We found that the Two Brothers M2 Slip-On Exhaust was the best option for the Hayabusa overall. It’s relatively affordable with a deep roar that greatly improves the sound compared to stock.

Bringing decent weight reductions and hefty performance benefits in the higher power ranges, not to mention it’s got a spanking look and installation was a breeze.

Read on to find out more about Two Brothers M2 Slip-On exhaust and our other top recommendations.

Overall best

Two Brothers M2 Slip-On Exhaust

What exhaust was the lightest out of everything we tested? a twinge of the throttle created an insatiable roar while at idle it maintained a deep purr, not to mention a super compact design and a perforated core for better sound and funneling of gasses, well Two Brothers M2 of course.

This was hands down our favorite slip on exhaust for the Hayabusa, I don’t want to get too over the top but it’s another level above everything else we’ve played around with at this price point. We understand the vast majority of riders don’t want to drop a thousand dollars on a slip on exhaust so we felt the M2 series was the perfect middle ground for the Suzuki Hayabusa.

The sound of the M2 was my personal favorite, at idle it’s a pleasant deep purr that makes stopping at traffic lights that little more enjoyable. Once you play the throttle, the M2 opens right up with a deep throaty growl, it’s an aggressive sound and also loud, if you’re looking for something quiet this exhaust is not for you.

The build quality is excellent and what I found fantastic is that the M2 series of exhausts uses a new patented design known as the V.A.L.E system. It allows you to attach the muffler to the internal pipes without heavy springs or welding, it makes installation simple but more importantly cuts down unnecessary weight.

The entire exhaust is produced from 304 stainless steel, it actually turns a golden amber color after a few rides, if you didn’t know. The best quality stainless steel always turns a golden amber so you can’t rest assured you’ve purchased the best.

We really tried to find some floors in this slip on exhaust but honestly it was tricky to find anything, it’s in the mid range of good quality exhausts for the Hayabusa, and while not expensive, not cheap either.

Pros
  • Best weight reduction out of everything we tested
  • Deep purr at idle
  • Sounds great playing with the throttle
  • Perforated core
  • Superior patented design
  • 304 Stainless steel build
  • Turns amber colour with use
  • Improved torque
  • Extra horsepower
  • Made in USA
  • Compatible with all Hayabusa models
  • Easy installation
  • One of the loudest slip on exhausts available
Cons
  • Pricey
  • This exhaust is hard to see on some motorcycle models

Best Budget

Akrapovic Homologated Slip-On Exhaust

Nothing is cooler than a dual exhaust system and Akrapovic has designed a dual slip on exhaust for the Hayabusa that’s going to make it sound like a beast, get significantly more power gains and surprisingly keep it lightweight as well, the only downside is it’s expensive because you’re paying for two slip ons instead of one.

The centerpiece of this exhaust is going to be style and looks, the downside of most slip on exhausts is that they’re inconspicuous and difficult to notice at times, but not with Akrapovic’s homologated slip ons, they’re a dual system that’s right in your face. They make your motorcycle look far cooler and will be a real eye catcher when you’re on the road.

I know you’re expecting a dual system to load on a lot more weight but Akrapovic has managed to side step this by using carbon fibre as their primary material. Which means it’s lightweight and we found it to be exactly the same weight as the stock exhaust that our Hayabusa came with.

The downside is that carbon fibre is the least durable exhaust material, in the case of a crash or if you drop your motorcycle you may have to replace the exhaust entirely which is an expensive replacement when riding with Akrapovic Homologated Slip-Ons installed/

Compared to full system exhausts, slip ons aren’t known for serious power gains, but this isn’t actually the case for this dual exhaust. Because it is a lot longer than most slip-on alternatives and there’s two pipes instead of the usal one. This means you will see some improvements in revs not such at the higher speeds but also improved horsepower and your torque will have some more bite to it too.

Pros
  • Dual system
  • Mostly carbon fibre
  • Surprisingly lightweight
  • Good power gains
  • Classic Akrapovic sound
  • Decent torque improvements
  • Superior build quality
  • Entirely built in house
  • By far the coolest looking slip on exhaust
  • Overwhelmingly positive customer reviews
  • Smoother ride
Cons
  • Really expensive
  • Not compatible with every Hayabusa model (Check)

Best Premium Option

Yoshimura TRC Slip-On Exhaust

Yoshimura has produced a compact exhaust that follows their top notch build quality, a compact design to reduce weight and a throaty roar that’s going to give any Hayabusa motorcycle some real personality. Not to mention the potentially huge power benefits, all though this will vary depending on your Hayabusa’s pipes. We felt the Yoshimura TRC Slip-On was in the more affordable range although still pricey nonetheless.

The TRC is one of the most compactly designed slip-ons that we tested, utilising a triangular sleeve and high quality stainless steel, makes it lighter than most aftermarket alternatives not to mention far lighter than the stock exhaust the Haybusa comes with.

Expect power gains across entire rev ranges because of this weight loss, also because Yoshimura’s internal straight baffle will improve the velocity of the gasses produced from your engine, causing improved power gains, but remember these gains greatly depending on the piping of your motorcycle.

Like most Japanese style exhausts, the build quality of the Yoshimura TRC is excellent, the cone shaped end cap is a nice touch, giving it a unique aesthetic, and dropping some weight as well. Although a compact design is what you want from a slip on, we did feel it didn’t look as good compared to a full system exhaust, it looks small and inconspicuous but really it was one of the few downsides we found with this slip on exhaust.

Yoshimura are known for their throaty exhausts and the TRC is no different, this thing growls at idle and roars to life once you play with the throttle. A downside with the TRC was that the sound it produces will come down to personal preference so it’s best you check first.

Pros
  • Great compatibility with the Hayabusa
  • Triangular sleeve
  • Made from premium stainless steel
  • Throaty roar
  • Sounds great at idle
  • Nice aesthetic
  • Designed in Japan produced in the USA
  • Carbon fibre end cap
  • Decent weight loss
  • Good performance gains
  • Top notch build quality
  • Race exhaust
Cons
  • Not super affordable
  • Some riders dislike the throaty sound
