The Best 2-Into-1 Exhausts for Harley Touring Motorcycles

In this guide, we’ll be covering the best exhausts for Harley touring motorcycles.

After years of riding my Road Glide, I couldn’t help but feel that the experience had become a bit bland. Rolling on the throttle at highway speed just doesn’t have that same adrenaline rush, and the sound of the stock exhaust leaves much to be desired.

I feel the need to make the bike a bit more fun, and what better way to achieve that than an aftermarket exhaust. We did a lot of digging to find the best 2-into-1  exhausts for Harley Davidson Touring bikes, and today, we’ll be sharing our results with you.

Vance & Hines Big Radius Exhaust For touring

Overall Best

Starting off the list, we have the Vance and Hines Big Radius Exhaust. I love this exhaust and ended up putting it on my motorcycle. The unique curved design, imposing sound, and formidable power gains this exhaust offers are unmatched. Our testing showed a vast improvement in volume and power. Not to mention, this thing just looks badass!

Attention to detail is the cornerstone of this exhaust’s build. Stainless steel finished in matte black adds mystique to the bike, while chrome treatment on the badging and endcap add a bit of flair to the design. Integrated heat shields keep your exhaust looking pristine, safe from the blue-ing effect that plagues lesser pipes.

Not only does it look breathtaking, but it also makes a booming sound that is sure to give you a rush every time you crack the throttle. The exhaust note is akin to old muscle cars, not luxury tourers. It added a lot of character and meanness to my usually well-behaved Road Glide and it has never sounded cooler.

But what good is a slick exhaust system if it can’t give you some performance benefits to back up that design? Thankfully, the Big Radius does just that. A proprietary exhaust flow design means your bike is about to get a significant power up. Our tests registered a respectable eight horsepower increase. But who cares about numbers? The classic big block sound alone should give you some idea of how this exhaust performs.

The Big Radius pipe made my hefty Road Glide so much easier to maneuver, adding not just power but torque to the engine as well, Factor in the significant weight savings, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for performance.

Pros
  • Unique styling with curved pipe
  • Major power upgrade
  • Blue proof heat shield
  • Sound reminiscent of old big block muscle cars
Cons
  • The curved styling may not be as popular among some touring bike riders

Bassani Road Rage 2-Into-1 Exhaust

Worthy Consideration

The Road Rage exhaust from Bassani is another great pipe for your Harley Davidson Touring bike. Here, we have a reverse megaphone style muffler with an attractive unequal length primary pipe design. You would be hard pressed to find another exhaust with such clean lines and jaw-dropping style. The blacked out look is trending these days, and the Road Rage fits right in with the blacked out ‘Special’ versions of Harley’s bikes.

Bassani’s exhaust features an especially designed stepped collector and louvered, packable baffle design, all of which is produced in-house to culminate in the perfect sounding exhaust for the Harley Touring bike.

The grunt of this monstrous exhaust is an excellent addition to the mean looking touring bikes. If the name didn’t give you an idea, this exhaust is not some average, run of the mill muffler. It is a severe and in-your-face exhaust that demands attention.

Power on the touring bikes also benefits from the addition of this exhaust. Our dyno testing was able to certify that this setup can get you an extra five or so horsepower and a similar amount of torque.

The numbers and graphs don’t do justice to just how much ‘grunt’ this pipe adds to the bike. In our experience, ride quality was smoother thanks to the lower weight, while passing vehicles on the highway was even less of a challenge with ample torque throughout the rev range. All in all, the Bassani is a perfect way to make your touring bike more fun!

Pros
  • Unique design with unequal pipes
  • A noticeable spike in power and performance
  • Reverse cone muffler design and spiral core louvered baffles make for one hell of an awesome sounding exhaust
Cons
  • Some riders might prefer a quieter exhaust for longer journeys

Bassani Road Rage Stainless 2-Into-1 Short Exhaust

Best Premium Choice

If you didn’t already know, not all stainless steel is made equal. And not every exhaust uses the same premium stainless that Bassani offers on their Road Rage Stainless 2-into-1. But this exhaust is about more than just the premium quality materials. Stellar performance and crazy sound are also featured here. And that’s just the beginning.

Proprietary design and construction make this exhaust perform like no other. Our test bike was the Harley Davidson Road Glide, and this exhaust essentially turned that motorcycle into an entirely different beast. Better power and engine response, more booming sound, and of course, the sublime design and look of the pipe!

Power and torque are massively improved with this exhaust. Our dyno registered a staggering 6-7 horsepower upgrade and a decent five ft-lbs of torque. But just ride the bike once, and you’ll understand what a huge difference those 6 HPs make. It’s one of the most significant improvements in power we’ve seen with any exhaust.

Sound benefitted similarly with a richer, more ‘choppy’ sound that is classic Bassani. Our Road Glide never sounded as throaty and awesome as with this exhaust. Highway pulls had a distinct roll on sound that left us grinning ear to ear.

To sum up, Bassani’s Road Rage III is one of the best performing exhausts we have come across. The power gains are monumental, the sound is monstrous, and this pipe’s look on my Road Glide is stunning.

Pros
  • Premium stainless steel construction makes for a durable product
  • One of the best sounding exhausts currently up for sale
  • Exceptional improvement in power and torque makes the behemoth Road Glide ride like never before
Cons
  • Premium price tag to go along with the quality
